News Break 2: 19:53 to 20:58
We are going to take our final break for some music news.
The concert ticket industry in New York is set to change, with a new bill being sent to Governor Kathy Hochul’s desk that would ban the practice of incorporating hidden fees into the price of tickets. Ticket vendors would instead be required to disclose the “all-in” price up front, making the transaction process simpler and more transparent. The managing director of Ticketmaster in North America has voiced support for the effort, saying that it would help artists deliver tickets to fans at their set price points. This reform could potentially have a positive impact on the concert-going experience in New York State.
Organizers of the Belgium-based Tomorrowland festival have announced that Charlotte de Witte will become the first woman to close out the main stage. This marks a milestone for the festival, which has been running for nearly two decades, and for de Witte, who is one of EDM.com’s Best Music Producers of 2020. This performance will mark her fourth consecutive year performing at the festival.
That’s it for music news, now let’s get back to the music.
