Simon Mee was the first Castaway in Australian Survivor to be blindsided with two Idols before merge and now he’s back on Heroes Vs Villains, ready to avenge his loss.
Since leaving the outback in his dust, he admits that failing in his previous season was tough to swallow. But ultimately, he knows that he let his ego and arrogance get the best of him, and it prevented him from actually playing the game. This time around, things will be different.
Perhaps the change in attitude and strategy comes as a result of Mee’s marriage following Brains V Brawn to partner, Bec.
Coming onto the Australian Survivor shores of Samoa as a Villain, Mee shares what he thinks will be his asset for this season.
“My strength coming into this season has to be my self-awareness,” he says. “It’s taken a lot of self-reflection to get to where I am now after what I went through and I’m going to use that to my advantage.
“My biggest fear coming into this game is going home with another idol, it is something I’ve thought about for a long time and it haunts me and I’m absolutely terrified of ending up with one and not playing it correctly.”
With chaos on his mind, he’s not going down without a fight.
Mee firmly believes that without the drama and evil of the Villain tribe, “this game would be so boring”.
He’s already shown his commitment to the Villain role throughout the season so far and it seems that he’s hopes he’s working his way to unlocking his full potential.
