Some Cyber Security in Australia News

Nobody is filled with euphoria from being hacked. Well, nobody except for some folks with an incredibly dangerous kink. This has led to many Aussies becoming frustrated with their country’s antiquated cyber security measures and wanting better systems put in place.

Enter: The Federal Government, because they are setting up an agency that will go up against state-sponsored hackers and other cybercriminals. This new organisation may also improve cyber security in Australia by enforcing cyber safety baselines in private sector and help bolster cyber resilience in regional communities.

“To achieve our vision of being the world’s most cyber-secure country by 2030, we need the unified effort of government, industry, and the community,” said our Cyber Security Minister, Clare O’Neil. “Together, we can equip our community to reduce the number and impact of cyber incidents through improved cyber hygiene and provide clear advice on how to respond confidently.”

Why Pill Testing Is Coming to Queensland

Pill testing: A harm reduction service that can test illicit drugs for unknown and deadly chemical substances. Such services are known to save lives but, for reactionary reasons, Australia has been reluctant to embrace this tech.

Fortunately though, Queensland is kicking this trend. This state is creating fixed and mobile pill testing services that will help Aussies not ingest stuff like laundry powder and rat poison.

“Pill testing is all about harm minimisation, we don’t want people ending up in our emergency departments or worse losing their life,” said Queensland’s Minister for Health, Yvette D’Ath. “It is important to note that pill testing services do not promote that drugs are safe, however, they are among a suite of options that can positively affect outcomes regarding illicit drug use.”

“Drug testers can also influence a drug taker’s behaviour, making them more likely to dispose of substances, decrease the amount they take, tell their peers, and be more likely to seek help if they or others are experiencing adverse effects.”

Australia Beat South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup

Meanwhile, on planet sports news, Australia smashed South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup final. This is because the likes of Beth Mooney helped Australia score 156 runs, while South Africa only got 137.

What’s more, the captain of Australia, Meg Lanning, stated after the match, “What a way to finish! Been an incredible journey over the past 5 years. I love being part of this team.”

It’s worth noting that this is Australia’s third consecutive T20 World Cup win and our country’s sixth win overall.
